The Caregiver is a member of the interdisciplinary group who performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and promote comfort. The Caregiver is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed. The caregiver will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a patient's care.

Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
- Remind and assist with self-administration of medication.
- Provide light housekeeping and laundry services.
- Provide transportation to medical appointments and other necessary errands (if applicable).
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Maintain records according to policy.
Requirements
- Current registration as a State Nurse's Aide (CNA) is preferred but not required.
- Current registration as a Home Health Aid Certification (HHA) is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience providing personal care to the elderly or disabled is a plus.
- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- The physical demands of this job require the employee to occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics of this job require the employee to be exposed to weather conditions.
Salary
$15 - $20 per hour
