Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. As a DSP, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities or other special needs, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those in your care. This position requires a strong commitment to ensuring the well-being, safety, and empowerment of those you serve.


Location and Client Specific Needs:

We are looking for staff to support a specific client in Dundee Oregon that has exceptional support needs, and as such offering a starting rate up to $27/hr if the candidate holds a current OIS certification and has experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Follow behavior support plans.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Encourage and support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
  • Ensure the safety and security of clients in all activities, including during transportation and outings.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided, client progress, and any incidents or changes in client status.
  • Collaborate with the client’s family, support team, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field of support services.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in direct care, healthcare, or a similar field is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.
  • Must pass background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for certain positions.
  • (Required) Demonstrated prior experience supporting individuals with challenging and/or complex behavior
  • (Required) Current OIS (Oregon Intervention System) Training – Required (we can certify)
  • (Required) Evening and Weekend availability
