Sun Design is an award-winning design-build remodeling firm, and our Lead Carpenters are the heart of it. As a Lead Carpenter, you're the on-site project manager: you run the job from pre-construction to final walkthrough, lead the crew, coordinate the trades, and become the homeowner's trusted point of contact. If you take pride in your craft and want to be the person clients remember, this is your role.

Schedule & Pay

·        Monday–Thursday, 10-hour days — every weekend is a 3-day weekend

·        $35–$40 per hour, based on experience

What You'll Do

·        Own the project. Read plans, specs and change orders; build the job schedule and find ways to improve flow and finish sooner.

·        Be the client's go-to. Take part in the pre-construction meeting, hold weekly walkthroughs, and keep homeowners informed and confident.

·        Lead your crew. Assign, supervise and inspect carpentry work, and train carpenters and apprentices on the job.

·        Coordinate the trades. Schedule subcontractors, have materials on site and ready, and check their work for quality and completeness.

·        Manage materials & budget. Do take-offs, order and check deliveries, schedule inspections, and use weekly job reports to stay on budget and on schedule.

·        Finish strong. Build and complete the punch list with the client and deliver a remodel that exceeds expectations — under promise, over deliver.

What You Bring

·        [5+] years of residential remodeling carpentry experience, including [2+] years leading jobs or crews

·        Strong framing, trim and finish carpentry skills

·        Ability to read plans and perform material take-offs

·        Clear, professional communication with homeowners, trades and your team

·        Organized — comfortable managing schedules, subs and budgets

·        Commitment to a safe, clean, respectful job site

·        Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and your own hand tools

·        [OSHA 10/30 and EPA Lead-Safe (RRP) certification a plus]
