Responsible for carrying out assigned tasks in order to assure the physical properties of Film/Movie Studios in the San Fernando Valley are functioning well in order to support the Studio’s business and clients. Daily activities may involve repairs, preventative maintenance, sourcing materials and new construction projects.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues that may arise in the studio’s buildings, sound stages and parking structure.
- Carrying out repairs on a wide variety of interior and exterior building issues.
- Performing preventative maintenance on various systems such as doors, fence and gates, cabinets, roofs, etc. This can include cleaning, lubrication, adjustments and replacing worn parts.
- Participate in tenant improvement projects pertaining to production clients that could involve construction, paint, flooring, etc.
- Must accomplish assigned tasks in a timely manner using best-practices and industry standard techniques.
- Proposing scope-of-work and building budgets and incorporate into a project request document for approval.
- Carry out projects with communicated objectives in mind while understanding budget and scheduling parameters.
- Interact with the work ticket application and keep pertinent information and time keeping data accurate and up-to-date.
- Participate in preventative maintenance activities to assure equipment and infrastructure is well taken care of.
- Respect the Studio client’s activities and support their activities and adhere to the Studio’s social contract.
- At times work with third-party vendors to accomplish certain projects.

- Must always adhere to safety rules and procedures.
- Good housekeeping practices must be carried out in project areas, in addition to workshop.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues that may warrant attention.
- Only participate in activities that are associated with an approved work ticket.
· A minimum of 5 years maintenance, repair and new construction.
· Carpentry, welding and fabrication skills.
· Must be results oriented with excellent project management skills.
· Must have valid California Driver’s License and ability to be insured in accordance with Sylmar Studios insurance requirements.
· Must be able to pass forklift certification, respirator, safety harness and lift training.
· Working knowledge of applicable safety and security regulations.
· Ability to adjust schedule to accommodate client requested projects.
$37 - $40 per hour
