The Senior Field Service Engineer (Sr. FSE) is an integral part of a collaborative team providing both on-site and remote technical support to our customers. The Sr FSE helps to ensure customer satisfaction and a positive experience with our products, with emphasis on installation, training, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of our in situ sequencing sub-cellular resolution confocal imaging systems. You will develop and nurture customer relationships, and work closely with our R&D and Marketing team members to share knowledge gained during your interactions with our customers. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting, rapidly growing company in the emerging field of spatial biology.


What You’ll Do:

  • Perform installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and repairs at customer sites efficiently and effectively.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex instrument issues, minimizing downtimes. 
  • Maintain regular, frequent communication with customers and internal partners ensuring resolution leading to customer satisfaction. 
  • Collaborate with other FSE, FAS, Sales, Development and Technical Support personnel for team success. 
  • Independently manage work schedule with a focus on exceeding customer and field team expectations. 
  • Provide technical feedback and design suggestions for ongoing product improvement.
  • Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as providing timely and accurate installation and maintenance reports, parts ordering and/or returns and expense reporting. 


About You:

  • B.S. in engineering or related discipline with advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years supporting capital equipment in the research or clinical fields.
  • Experience in the alignment and troubleshooting of imaging systems or relevant research/clinical devices.  
  • Comfortable working with individuals at varying skill levels and backgrounds adapting communication style and content as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task to execute effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%
