Stellaromics Inc. Computational Biologist - Image Analysis and Machine Learning Boston, MA · Full time

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computational Biologist to join our innovative team, focusing on image analysis, machine learning, and data visualization applied to Stellaromics' cutting-edge STARmap and RIBOMap technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree and a few years of relevant experience. This role will work closely with our internal assay development team, helping to accelerate the assay development process and drive product development forward. This position will also be responsible for executing service projects for our valued customers.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

·     Develop and implement advanced image analysis techniques, data analysis pipelines, and machine learning models to enhance our assay development process.

·     Collaborate with the assay development team to gain a deep understanding of the assays and provide computational insights to optimize the development cycle.

·     Execute projects for pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic clients, ensuring high-quality results and customer satisfaction.

·     Apply and adapt state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning methods to analyze customer studies, providing valuable insights and recommendations.

·     Demonstrate excellent communication and report-building skills, effectively conveying complex computational concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

·     Prototype new data analysis routines and develop innovative data visualization techniques and dashboards to enhance the interpretation and understanding of experimental results.

·     Contribute to product development by integrating intuitive visualizations and user-friendly interfaces into our software solutions.

·     Stay up to date with the latest advancements in computational biology, image analysis, spatial biology, and machine learning, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation within the company.


Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computational biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.

·     2-5 years of relevant experience in image analysis, genomics/transcriptomics, and machine learning, preferably in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.

·     Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and/or C++, with experience in popular machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow/PyTorch, scikit-image, scikit-learn etc.

·     Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex biological datasets, particularly those related to imaging and transcriptomics.

·     Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative computational solutions to address challenging biological questions.

·     Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly articulate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

·     Experience in data visualization and developing intuitive user interfaces is a plus.

·     Familiarity with high-performance computing and cloud computing environments is advantageous.

·     Passion for applying computational techniques to solve complex biological problems and drive scientific discovery.

·     Submission of a GitHub profile link or portfolio showcasing relevant projects or contributions is encouraged.
