Stella Technologies Azure Cloud Administrator Washington Township, OH · Full time

We are looking for an Azure Cloud Administrator to own the infrastructure and deployment automation behind our platform deployments in Azure Government (GCC High). This is a hands-on role for someone who can provision Azure resources with Bicep, build GitLab-based DevSecOps pipelines, support deployment of containerized distributed systems across multiple environments, and streamline how applications are integrated into the platform through repeatable onboarding patterns and automatic creation of application-specific resources.

About Stella Technologies

Stella Technologies LLC is a lean startup that delivers model based systems engineering, digital cyber engineering, and modeling, simulation, and analysis for complex technical programs. We help teams connect requirements, architecture, and verification in a way that stays coherent as systems change, and we build the tooling and automation needed to keep engineering work traceable and usable over time. Our work includes building model driven workflows, simulation and digital twin environments, and cyber informed engineering approaches that support early testing, trade studies, and evidence based decisions. Stella is intentionally small and execution focused, staffed by highly capable individuals who take ownership of difficult tasks and deliver practical, working solutions. We believe human time is the world's most valuable asset and the greatest waste is squandering brilliant minds on repetitive, automatable tasks. We build systems that eliminate waste, freeing people to focus on creative, strategic, and complex challenges. Incumbency is a bug, not a feature. We build with open standards and straightforward engineering. No proprietary lock-in, no opaque systems.

Description

What You'll Do

  • Design, provision, and evolve Azure environments across development, test, production, and mission-driven deployment contexts
  • Build reusable Bicep modules, infrastructure templates, and resource patterns for repeatable Azure provisioning
  • Automate deployment of distributed systems and platform services across multiple environments, including cross-domain or otherwise constrained paths
  • Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery, application promotion, security checks, and release controls
  • Support standardized deployment patterns for Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and AKS-based workloads
  • Stand up and manage the shared Azure resources needed for platform delivery, including networking, identity, secrets, and observability services
  • Support application onboarding by defining the integration patterns, required resources, and deployment workflows teams will use to get onto the platform, including automated creation of dependencies such as PostgreSQL, Key Vault secrets, and other application-specific Azure resources
  • Partner with engineering, security, and product stakeholders to keep platform delivery reliable, secure, and compliant

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of hands-on Azure cloud engineering or administration experience in automated, production environments.
  • Strong experience provisioning Azure infrastructure with Bicep and/or other infrastructure-as-code tooling.
  • Proven ability to build and support CI/CD workflows in GitLab or similar DevSecOps tooling.
  • Experience deploying and operating containerized workloads with Docker, Kubernetes, and ideally AKS.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and scripting for deployment automation.
  • Experience supporting multi-environment deployments for distributed systems, platform services, or internal developer platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking, identity, secrets management, and shared platform services.
  • Experience with Azure Government or other regulated cloud environments is strongly preferred.
  • US Citizenship required; active Secret clearance preferred, must be able to obtain.
  • Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and wearing multiple hats.
  • Ability to create secure, repeatable deployment patterns and support application onboarding through automated provisioning of application-specific resources with minimal manual intervention.

Nice to Have

  • AZ-104 and/or AZ-305 certification.
  • Experience with Helm, Argo CD, or other deployment orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, or policy-as-code controls in CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-171, DoD IL, or cross-domain deployment constraints.
  • Prior public sector, DoD, or cleared environment experience.
