STEAM Inventors is a pre-school and afterschool STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Educational Service for students from Pre-K to K-12 trying to bridge the gap between current classroom and technology progression. We offer two distinct programs in STEAM Educational space. One is a through a franchise ownership of Nutty Scientists that teaches the children science through drama-based shows and experience the joy of experiments in a safe laboratory. We also operate in a physical facility offering an immersive learning environment for the students to play, learn, connect, and innovate with emerging technologies such as AR/VR, robotics, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity to name a few. Two offerings together will boost the interest of the children and the community. A clear communication will be fundamental skill for 21st century job market at STEAM Inventors our goal is to prepare the children for 21st century learning skills. Nutty Scientists shows can also be performed in events such as birthday parties, corporate events etc. We will arrange Nutty Scientists entertainment events for corporate, private parties, educational awareness programs. Two offerings together will boost the interest of the children and the community.

Position Description –

This is a mentoring and tutoring position for a mobile app development boot camp organized during a weekend (6-8 hours in total) in September, 2023. During the boot camp, you will lead a class of students (age 9 to 16) teaching about how to design a mobile app using low code or no code environment such as App Lab, MIT App Inventor, Thunkable. Assumption is that these students don’t know anything about app development. The objective of the boot camp will be to teach these students how to design and publish app. At the end of the boot camp students will publish at least one app.

As a tutor and mentor you will do more than teaching. You will be a role model, you will demonstrate that fun, collaboration, and work go hand in hand. You will mentor the students in a fun, dynamic learning environment. You will inspire the next block buster game designer, app developer, or guide a student who solves a real-life problem using technology. If you are someone which describes above, let’s talk!

Required Qualifications -

·      Passionate about working with children and teens.

·      Strong communication skills

·      Have a positive attitude and sense of humor

·      Proficiency in one of the languages - Java, Python, or C++.

·      Pursuing or completed degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications: -

·      Teaching or tutoring experience.

·      Camp experience.

·      Customer service experience.

·      Experience in mobile app development environment
