Starobin Counseling, LLC Licensed Couples and Family Therapist Remote · Full time

Provide outpatient neurodiversity-affirming individual, couple, family, and group therapy to clients of Starobin Counseling, LLC. Clinical therapy services include treatment of adolescents, adult individuals, couples, families, and groups.



The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform on-site and remote clinical counseling services to clients of Starobin Counseling, LLC, as scheduled and in accordance with company policies. This position can be remote only for the right professional.
  • Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Starobin Counseling, LLC.
  • Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours, on days worked in the office or remotely, whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Starobin Counseling, LLC website. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients.
  • Interview clients and administer screenings and assessment tools as appropriate.
  • Communicate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school,etc.) as necessary and collaborate with the treatment team and other specialists to develop and implement the treatment plan
  • Completion of written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake and assessment notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by Starobin Counseling, LLC or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the patient within a timely fashion (by Friday of each week). Keep client files accurate and up to date.
  • Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established by Starobin Counseling, LLC.
  • Attend regular team meetings as required
  • Attend regular supervision meetings as required
  • Attend training as directed by Starobin Counseling, LLC.
  • Conduct counseling services in a professional manner so as to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Starobin Counseling, LLC. Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
  • When interested and available, provide education and training in various clinical theories, assessment techniques, treatment modalities, and related mental health programs to other clinical professionals within Starobin Counseling, LLC, and personnel in medical, educational, managerial, social, and community programs when opportunities arise.
  • When interested and available, provide presentations, seminars, and workshops to both professionals and non-professionals.
  • Part Time therapists must work at least one evening or a weekend shift and carry a caseload of a minimum of 15 clinical hours per week. Full Time therapists must work at least two evenings or two weekend shifts or some combination thereof and a minimum of 23 clinical hours per week.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Has a Masters or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, or Psychology
  • Has a minimum of a Master’s level license in a mental health field and has either a graduate level license (LMSW, LGPC, LMFT) or a full clinical license (LCSW-C, LCPC, LCMFT).
  • Has a minimum of 2 years of face-to-face therapy experience with couples and families and trauma
  • Enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families
  • Preference for clinicians with advanced training in couples and family therapy, family systems, relational therapies, and trauma.
  • Is able to commit to a minimum of 15 clinical hours per week and desires a full-time caseload (interested and qualified candidates who desire part time work should apply)
  • Is licensed in Maryland (please inquire with DC or VA licensure
  • Is effective and diligent at maintaining case records and documentation

We provide telehealth and in-person counseling, and clinicians can provide telehealth from our Olney office if they desire.  


$75,000 - $120,000 per year
