Market Manager

Location: Birmingham, AL (suburban markets)

Type: Full-time with significant growth potential

Overview

Are you driven to grow something meaningful, make an impact in your community, and lead with entrepreneurial energy?


We’re looking for a Market Manager — a business-minded, community-connected individual to help us operate and grow one (or more) of our suburban Birmingham markets. You’ll be the face of the brand, the builder of local relationships, and the leader responsible for revenue and identifying the information that makes great local journalism possible.


You’ll also be at the cutting edge of AI-enabled sales, hyperlocal content marketing, and B2B relationship-building, helping us refine tools and systems that enhance our ability to serve local businesses and tell the stories of the communities we serve.

This is not just a job — it’s a launchpad. We’re refining a model that enables the right person to assume new markets or leadership roles within the company. You’ll start by learning and executing within our proven system. Then you’ll help shape and expand it.


You Have:

What You’ll Do:

  • Sell advertising and marketing solutions to local businesses
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders, civic leaders, and organizations
  • Manage the business operations of a designated local market
  • Represent the brand at community events and build strong local visibility
  • Support editorial efforts by keeping the team informed about local priorities
  • Maintain and organize key market knowledge inside our database
  • Collaborate with editorial and sales teams to ensure quality and consistency
  • Take ownership of market performance and help refine the expansion playbook

Compensation & Growth Path:
