The Role:
We are seeking a highly organized, customer- and operational-focused Senior Floor Lead to join our team at our flagship dispensary in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will oversee the sales floor, ensuring that operations run smoothly, and that each customer’s experience is memorable and positive. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be proactive, and possess strong leadership skills. You will play a crucial role in supervising Budtenders, managing daily customer interactions, and contributing to a seamless and compliant customer journey from entry to checkout.
The Senior Store Supervisor supports dispensary operations across the sales floor and back-of-house. In addition to leading Budtenders and supporting inventory workflows, this role holds keyholder responsibilities, including opening/closing procedures and daily cash management. This position is ideal for experienced supervisors ready to step into deeper operational leadership.
- Keyholder & Operational Leadership:
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cash reconciliation and store readiness.
- Ensure shift transitions are seamless with proper handoffs and communication.
- Lead daily huddles, ensuring alignment on promotions and team goals.
- Serve as manager-on-duty when leadership is off-site.
Cash Management:
- Manage tills during open/close and oversee safe counts and reconciliation.
- Assist with discrepancy reports and deposit preparation.
Inventory Support & Oversight:
- Supervise product intake and help with cycle counts and reporting.
- Coordinate with Inventory Manager to identify stock needs and discrepancies.
- Support Metrc and POS updates as necessary.
Customer Service Leadership:
- Supervise and support Budtenders throughout shifts, ensuring that they are providing exceptional customer service and following the defined customer journey to enhance every customer’s experience.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional and efficient manner, ensuring that customers leave with a positive impression of the dispensary.
- Lead by example in delivering personalized consultations, using knowledge of cannabis products to enhance the customer journey and meet individual customer needs.
Sales Floor Management:
- Manage the flow of customers on the sales floor, ensuring that they are greeted promptly and directed to the right resources (Budtenders, product displays, etc.).
- Monitor inventory presentation, ensuring products are organized, properly labeled, and displayed to encourage customer engagement.
- Collaborate closely with the Inventory Manager to ensure products are stocked and displayed in a manner that aligns with customer preferences, promotions, and the overall sales strategy.
Customer Journey Enhancement:
- Maintain an awareness of the entire customer journey, from entry and greeting to checkout and post-purchase follow-up. Work with Budtenders to ensure each touchpoint is a positive experience.
- Encourage Budtenders to provide personalized shopping experiences by asking targeted questions and recommending products based on customer needs, helping to build long-term relationships.
- Work with management to gather customer feedback and adjust sales floor strategies based on pain points or opportunities to improve the shopping experience.
Compliance and Operations:
- Ensure that all sales floor activities comply with local, state, and federal cannabis regulations, including checking IDs, preventing overselling of product limits, and maintaining proper documentation of sales.
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, balancing tills, and preparing sales reports for the General Manager.
- Team Leadership and Development.
- Train, mentor, and support Budtenders in improving their product knowledge, sales techniques, and compliance practices.
- Train new supervisors and assist with onboarding team members.
- Provide ongoing coaching to Budtenders, ensuring they are confident in delivering exceptional customer service and upselling products based on customer preferences.
- Monitor Budtender performance, providing feedback and guidance as necessary to ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds customer satisfaction standards.
Sales and Reporting:
- Track sales performance and key metrics, such as average transaction size, product sell-through rates, and customer satisfaction scores, providing regular reports to the General Manager.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to implement sales strategies and promotions that drive customer engagement and increase revenue.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to guide, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a focus on creating a welcoming and positive environment for customers.
- Familiarity with cannabis products and state regulations is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring a smooth and compliant sales floor operation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass all required background checks.
