Description

The Role: We are seeking a customer-focused and knowledgeable Budtender to join our team at our flagship dispensary in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be the face of The Forest Baltimore, ensuring that every customer receives exceptional service and a personalized shopping experience. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have a passion for cannabis education. You will play a key role in guiding customers through the purchasing process, offering expert product recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.


Key Responsibilities


Customer Greeting and Check-In:

  • Warmly greet all customers upon arrival and ensure they are checked in following company procedures, making them feel welcomed and at ease as they begin their shopping experience.
  • Inform customers about any promotions, daily deals, and loyalty programs during the check-in process, contributing to a positive first impression and setting the tone for the visit.


Personalized Product Recommendations:

  • Engage customers in conversations to understand their cannabis needs and preferences, offering personalized product recommendations based on their lifestyle, desired effects, and consumption habits.
  • Educate customers on the various cannabis products available, including strains, edibles, topicals, and consumption methods, ensuring they are well-informed before making a purchase.
  • Ask targeted lifestyle questions to better guide customers through the product selection process, such as their consumption preferences, experience level, and desired outcomes


Sales Floor Engagement:

  • Ensure customers have a smooth and enjoyable experience on the sales floor by providing attentive and knowledgeable service throughout their visit.
  • Help customers navigate product displays, providing insights on new and popular products, as well as educating them on current promotions.
  • Ensure that the store environment is welcoming, clean, and well-organized, contributing to the overall customer journey and satisfaction.


Sales and Purchasing Process:

  • Assist customers through the entire purchasing process, from product selection to checkout, ensuring that each transaction is smooth, accurate, and compliant with company policies and state regulations.
  • Process customer purchases accurately, ensuring all required documentation is properly handled, and guide customers through loyalty program enrollment if applicable.
  • Provide follow-up recommendations or suggestions based on previous purchases, encouraging repeat visits.


Inventory Support and Maintenance:

  • Regularly communicate with the Inventory Lead and Floor Lead to stay informed about product availability and sales trends, allowing you to make the best recommendations to customers.


Customer Engagement:

  • Foster long-term relationships with customers by offering personalized follow-up advice based on previous visits and purchases, ensuring customers feel valued and encouraged to return.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail or customer service, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on creating a welcoming and informative atmosphere for customers.
  • A passion for cannabis and a strong desire to continuously learn about cannabis products, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with cannabis strains, products, and consumption methods is a plus.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass all required background checks


Working conditions

Here, you'll join a community of passionate individuals, all committed to cultivating not just cannabis, but a culture and environment that's as engaging and spirited as our team. This role is in a brick-and-mortar retail store environment with occasional field visits related to the role. You may encounter typical hazards such as loud noises, moving machinery, and electrical equipment.


Pay: $20/hr.


Expected hours

  • Available to work opening and closing shifts.
  • Holidays and Weekends as needed.
  • Ability to commute.
