The medical assistant will assist the providers with the care of patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure exam rooms are properly prepared on a daily basis.
2. Assist healthcare providers in escorting patients to exam rooms.
3. Accurately record vital signs.
4. Conduct vision and hearing screenings for patients.
5. Perform ear irrigation procedures as needed.
6. Collect blood samples using finger stick or venipuncture techniques.
7. Prepare blood, urine, and culture samples for laboratory testing.
8. Perform common in-house primary care laboratory tests, such as rapid strep tests, pregnancy tests, influenza tests, etc.
9. Prepare instruments for autoclave sterilization.
10. Provide support to doctors and nurses during various procedures, including laceration repairs, incision and drainage, excisions, and minor procedures.
11. Administer vaccines, injectable medications, and ensure accurate documentation in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR).
12. Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other office type procedures.
13. Accurately document daily work activities in the EMR.
14. Schedule patient appointments.
15. Assist with front desk responsibilities, including patient registration, insurance verification, payment collection, and answering phone calls.
16. Must be fluent in both English and Hmong languages.
17. Proficiency in Adobe, Excel, and Word software is required. Strong typing and data entry skills are necessary
18.Speak Hmong language fluently
$17 - $25 per hour
