Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and escort them to the examination room, ensuring that their medical history is updated in the electronic medical record system.
- Obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height, and record them in the patient's chart.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as needed.
- Administer vaccines and injections, draw blood for laboratory tests, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Respond to patient inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information.
- Maintain an organized and clean examination room, ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and properly sterilized.
- Order and maintain supplies and equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the medical clinic.
- Maintain accurate medical records in EMR.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assistant training program preferred.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology, infection control procedures, and medical equipment operation.
- Computer literacy, including experience with electronic medical record systems and medical billing software.
- MUST SPEAK SPANISH.
- REQUIRED TO WORK SATURDAYS FROM 9:00 TO 3:00.
Working Conditions:
The Family Practice Medical Assistant will work in a medical clinic setting, and may be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. This position REQUIRES Saturdays from 9:00 to 3:00 to accommodate patient needs.
