Sprout Organization Housekeeper Woodland, CA · Part time

Sprout Organization is hiring a Housekeeper for our Woodland, CA recuperative care home. This role keeps the house clean, sanitary, and habitable for members recovering from illness or injury — infection control work, not general upkeep. The condition of the building is part of the service Sprout is paid to deliver.

Description

Scope of the Role This position cleans the facility — common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and rooms at turnover between members — and launders facility linens. It does not include cleaning, laundry, or errands performed on an individual member's behalf; that falls outside what an unlicensed Recuperative Care operator may provide. Requests of that kind are reported to the Supervisor of Facilities, not handled directly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, hallways, and shared spaces on the assigned schedule
  • Prepare rooms for turnover between members: strip, sanitize, restock, and confirm ready for occupancy
  • Launder and rotate facility linens and towels
  • Maintain cleaning supply stock and report shortages to the House Lead
  • Follow written infection control procedures, including isolation and communicable disease protocols
  • Use personal protective equipment as required
  • Handle biohazard waste and sharps disposal according to policy
  • Use correct products, dilutions, and contact times
  • Never move or handle a member's personal belongings or medications
  • Report maintenance issues, pest activity, leaks, odors, and safety hazards promptly
  • Report any observation about a member's wellbeing to the Support Specialist on shift
  • Maintain member privacy and confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to follow written cleaning and infection control protocols
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and remain on feet for a full shift
  • Reliability and discretion in a residential setting
  • Respectful, non-judgmental manner with members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, residential care, or hospitality housekeeping
  • Bloodborne pathogen training
  • Bilingual

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Satisfactory background check completed before unsupervised member contact
  • Negative TB clearance obtained within the twelve months prior to start date
  • Signed Staff Scope Acknowledgment
  • Signed mandated reporter acknowledgment for elder and dependent adult abuse

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and kneel for extended periods
  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals; safe handling training and equipment provided
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable disease; PPE provided and required
  • Work in a congregate residential setting serving adults with complex medical, behavioral health, and substance use needs
