Job Summary

The Site Supervisor is an assistant leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of our play space. This includes supporting staff, engaging with families, handling administrative tasks, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment for neurodivergent and disabled children.


This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with both direct experience supporting neurodivergent children and the organizational skills needed to lead a team and manage a space. Site Supervisors are expected to uphold and model Spirited Play Labs’ commitment to neurodiversity-affirming care, grounded in the Floortime approach.


This role is managed by the Site Manager; this role does not give administrative or managerial responsibilities beyond what is provided by the Site Manager. 


Education and Experience

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 6 months working with neurodivergent children in a supportive or educational role
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in administrative or managerial work (e.g., leading teams, using systems for administrative work, delegating to others)

Education:

  • Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent, or Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., education, psychology, child development, social work)

Certifications:

  • Completion of Floortime 101 is expected (can be done on-site while beginning the role)


Essential Functions

  1. Oversee the weekend and/or weekday morning operations of the play space
  2. Ensuring safety, cleanliness, and accessibility for families and staff
  3. Provide real-time guidance and support to open play support staff
  4. Communicate with families and caregivers, helping resolve any concerns or issues with care, clarity, and compassion
  5. Model and reinforce inclusive, respectful behavior and neurodiversity-affirming practices
  6. Complete light administrative tasks as directly requested by Site Manager (e.g., emails, supplies tracking, google sheets tracking, attendance tracking)
  7. Maintain fidelity to Spirited Play Labs' mission, values, and methodologies
  8. Foster a positive, collaborative team culture

Work Setting - This role operates in a high-energy, fast-paced environment that requires significant adaptability. The setting is a membership-based inclusive play space designed to be sensory-friendly for children, including those who are neurodivergent or disabled. Staff should expect typical noise levels associated with children's play environments. Due to the nature of the program, employees must possess the emotional resilience required to support children who may be experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges.


Body Positioning -  The role requires a high level of physical versatility, ranging from sitting to work on a computer or iPad to standing, bending, kneeling or sitting on the floor. Must also be capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.


Work Attire - Casual.


Availability Required - Must be available to work weekends and afternoon/evening shifts up to 7:00 PM. Office Hours - Weekdays 9am - 7pm, Saturdays 8am - 5pm or Sundays as needed.
