The Laundry Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in safely and efficiently delivering laundry to customers while providing top-notch customer service. This role requires a strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet delivery deadlines. You will drive the company's Ford Transit Van for deliveries in the Portland area.

Must be available and on time for Delivery shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:45am - 3:00pm* and Commercial Laundry Processing (washing, drying, folding) shifts on Tuesday and Thursday 6:45am - 3:00pm*, with weekly hours totaling approximately 32-38 hours.

Shift(s) are usually finished by 2pm, but could require staying until 3pm as needed due to varying laundry volume week-to-week.

This position will be a Union job. We are in active negotiations with International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU Local 5) to finalize the collective bargaining agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely and efficiently pick up and deliver laundry to customers, ensuring excellent customer service at all times

- Accurately document customer interactions, instructions, and requests

- Weigh and record laundry for tracking purposes with precision

- Immediate communication to management for any relevant information regarding customer issues, requests and feedback

- Follow efficient delivery routes to ensure on-time deliveries using smartphone navigation app

- Check in with the office after deliveries to confirm completion and receive further instructions

- Process laundry using commercial washers and dryers with speed and accuracy and folding according to Spin’s standard folding methods

- Maintain the delivery van (interior cleanliness, taking in for gas and fluids, routine maintenance, repairs and washes)

- Keep commercial laundry facility clean, stocked, and tidy

- Reset the space after each shift by cleaning washers, folding tables, dryers and lint traps, sweeping and mopping floors and performing other cleaning tasks as assigned

- Occasional laundry product shopping and moving supplies and products between stores as needed

- Adhere to safety regulations and state laws while driving to ensure the safety of yourself and others

- Perform any other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the laundry delivery service

Minimum Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED 

- Valid Driver’s License and proof of Insurance with a clean driving record

- Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail

- Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues

- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations

- Smartphone with navigation capabilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The Laundry Delivery Driver must be able to walk, stand, sit, communicate effectively, use hands and fingers, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. They must have good vision and be able to adjust focus. The work environment may include exposure to various weather conditions and noise. The focus on efficiency and customer service is paramount in this role, and the successful candidate will excel in delivering exceptional service while completing tasks quickly and accurately.
