SPIA Cycling, Inc. (Stages Cycling) is seeking a Software Engineer / IT Specialist to support our growing technology needs across three key areas: software and product development, software and systems administration, and IT support. The primary focus of this role is software engineering and application development, with an emphasis on backend services, manufacturing systems, automation, and tools that support the Stages Cycling product ecosystem. In addition to software development, this role provides hands-on support for the company’s software platforms, systems, and office technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a versatile technical problem solver who enjoys building software, improving systems, automating processes, and supporting users when needed.

Description

Essential Functions

Software & Product Development — Primary Focus (~65%)

·       Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and backend services supporting the Stages Cycling app, connected cycling products, manufacturing operations, and internal business workflows.

·       Manage and facilitate integrations between software systems that track device manufacturing, testing, inventory, and shipment lifecycles.

·       Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing, package publishing, containerization, and software deployment.

·       Develop Python- and .NET-based applications and backend services deployed in Microsoft Azure.

·       Develop and maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Grafana, Open Telemetry, and related technologies to provide visibility into application and hardware telemetry.

·       Develop internal workflow automation solutions supporting Finance, Sales, Operations, Engineering, and other business functions.

·       Develop and maintain AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows, including MCP servers, AI agents, and automation solutions, to improve engineering productivity and accelerate troubleshooting.

·       Build and maintain scalable APIs, cloud services, data integrations, and automation solutions.


Software & Systems Administration (~20%)

·       Administer and maintain the company's software applications, cloud services, and technology platforms.

·       Support the administration and configuration of cloud-based platforms and services, including Azure and other SaaS applications.

·       Manage user accounts, permissions, licenses, subscriptions, and access across business and engineering applications.

·       Monitor software licenses, subscriptions, renewals, and system access to ensure business continuity.

·       Troubleshoot application access, configuration, integration, and user-permission issues.

·       Maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party software platforms.

·       Maintain appropriate documentation for system configurations, integrations, access, and technical processes.

IT Support & Infrastructure (~15%)

·       Troubleshoot and maintain office network infrastructure, VPN connectivity, network devices, and related technology.

·       Manage employee access to internal systems, applications, and business resources.

·       Support onboarding and offboarding by setting up and disabling accounts, equipment, and system access.

·       Support basic security and access-control practices across company systems.

·       Assist with hardware procurement, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management.

·       Provide day-to-day technical support to employees, including hardware, software, network, and access-related issues.


Required Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field

·       Hands-on experience with C#/.NET and Python/FastAPI

·       Working knowledge of Docker and containerized development workflows

·       Experience with CI/CD practices on Bitbucket or equivalent platform

·       Experience with observability solutions with Open Telemetry and Azure Application Insights

·       Experience with relational databases on PostgreSQL and SQL Server

·       Familiarity with building maintainable web services and APIs (REST)

·       Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

·       Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities in a small, fast-moving organization

·       Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical employees


Preferred Qualifications

·       Previous software engineering experience (or strong internship, co-op experience)

·       Mandarin Chinese speaking and reading

·       Experience supporting corporate IT infrastructure, VPNs, networks, and end-user technology

·       Experience in a startup, small-company, or highly cross-functional environment

·       Passion and interest in fitness data and analytics

Salary

$75,000 - $120,000 per year
