We’re a small team running a community-first shop, and we want our online presence to reflect what we’re building in person: a place where people can learn, play, and belong.
As our Retail Associate / Community Manager, you’ll help keep the vibe welcoming on the floor, capture simple content in-store, and draft posts and updates that sound like a real human (because they are). You don’t need to be an influencer—just organized, creative, and thoughtful about representing our community with care.
Responsibilities
- Support daily in-store operations: welcoming customers, answering questions, maintaining a clean and organized space, and helping people find the right gear/game
- Help host and support in-store events by greeting attendees, helping new folks get oriented, and reinforcing store expectations around respectful conduct
- Create and publish social posts (events, reminders, new arrivals, community updates)
- Capture simple in-store content (photos/short clips of tables, products, displays—always with consent)
- Maintain a basic content calendar and coordinate with the owner/operator on priorities
- Monitor comments/messages and flag anything that needs a response or moderation
- Track lightweight performance metrics (what posts worked, what to do more/less of)
Qualifications
- Strong writing skills and an eye for clear, engaging communication
- Comfortable learning brand voice and following posting guidelines
- Respect for privacy/consent (especially when photographing community spaces)
- Ability to stay organized and hit deadlines
- Strong customer service instincts and a calm, welcoming presence
- Bonus (not required): experience with Facebook/Instagram content, scheduling tools, basic photo/video editing
- Bonus (not required): familiarity with tabletop gaming, MTG, LARP, cosplay, or fandom communities
Schedule expectations
- Part-time: approximately 20 hours/week
- In-store during open hours; evening and weekend availability is a plus (best time for events and content capture)
We strongly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented in local game stores and hobby spaces—including women, LGBTQ+ folks, people of color, disabled folks, and anyone who’s ever felt “not for me” in a game shop.
Equal Opportunity & Accessibility Note

If you’re excited about the role but don’t meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply. If you need accommodations during the hiring process, tell us what would help—no details required beyond what’s necessary to support you.
