Spectrum Psych Psychiatrist (Medical Director Opportunity) Los Angeles, CA · Full time

About Spectrum Psych

Spectrum Psych offers psychological and psychiatric care for neurodivergent clients across the lifespan — including diagnostic evaluation, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, medication management, yoga therapy, and support groups. We specialize in supporting individuals and families navigating autism, ADHD, anxiety, and mood-related concerns in a warm, strengths-based environment.

Description

We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join our team in a clinical capacity with the option to add on program development and supervision as we thoughtfully expand our psychiatry services.

The Opportunity

This role is designed for a psychiatrist who values depth, individualized, high quality care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Rather than a volume-driven model, our psychiatry service is built around:

  • Expert evaluation and follow-up appointments
  • Careful, individualized treatment planning
  • Close collaboration with psychologists, therapists, and OTs
  • Working with patients and families seeking a more thoughtful, integrated level of care

You will have the opportunity to shape the direction of psychiatry within the practice, with flexibility to tailor your role based on your clinical interests and desired level of involvement.

Scope of Role

Depending on your interests, the role may include:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Consultation on complex diagnostic and clinical presentations
  • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Optional Medical Director responsibilities, including:
  • Clinical oversight of psychiatry services
  • Supervision of support staff (e.g., NP, psychiatric technician)
  • Input on program development and clinical standards

We are open to part-time or full-time involvement, with flexibility in scheduling and structure.

Clinical Population

  • Autistic and neurodivergent individuals
  • ADHD and executive functioning differences
  • Anxiety, mood, and related conditions
  • Individuals with complex or previously unclear clinical presentations
  • Children, adolescents, and adults

Our patients and families are often seeking high-quality, nuanced care, and are well-aligned with a private-pay, specialty model. They value neurodivergent-affirming care provided with a high level of expertise.

Practice Environment

  • Established, respected reputation with strong referral relationships
  • Highly collaborative, collegial team culture
  • Administrative and operational infrastructure in place
  • Thoughtful scheduling designed to support quality of care
  • Opportunity to contribute to innovative, evolving care models

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and structured to support a sustainable, long-term clinical model, and may include a combination of:

  • Clinical revenue share
  • Additional compensation for leadership and supervisory responsibilities

The final structure will be tailored to reflect the scope and depth of the role.

Qualifications

  • MD, board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active California medical license
  • Expertise in working with neurodivergent populations
  • Thoughtful, measured approach to prescribing and clinical care
  • Warm, compassionate therapeutic style
  • Interest in collaborative, evidence-based, interdisciplinary mental health care

Ideal Fit

This role is well-suited for a psychiatrist who:

  • Prefers quality, elite care model over volume
  • Enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Is interested in contributing to a dynamic specialty practice model
  • Values intellectual engagement in their work
  • Wants to focus on patient care without worrying about daily operations tasks
