We are seeking to hire a eating disorder dietitian to our team
About Sparkman Nutrition
At Sparkman Nutrition, dietitians aren't just providers. They're a core part of how we deliver care. We've been serving Central Texas since 2016, building a practice rooted in trust, collaboration, and real patient impact.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Registered Dietitian who wants more than just a role. You want the space to do great work, feel supported, and be part of a team that takes what you do seriously.
About the Role
We are hiring a Texas-licensed dietitian whose clinical focus is pediatric eating disorder care. You will carry an outpatient caseload of children and adolescents, working with families and a multidisciplinary team through assessment, refeeding and medical stabilization support, and the long behavioral work that follows.
This role starts part-time and grows into full-time as the caseload builds. Two days each week are spent in our Austin office; the rest of your schedule is virtual.
What Makes This Role Different
- Focused caseload - you work with the population you trained for, rather than a general panel
- Hybrid flexibility - two days in office, everything else virtual
- No-show protection - you're paid for late cancellations
- Built-in caseload - strong referral network plus ongoing marketing support
- Dedicated admin support - you focus on patients, we handle operations
- Real collaboration - weekly case consults and a genuinely supportive team
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide 1:1 nutrition counseling to pediatric and adolescent patients, in person and via telehealth
- Support patients through eating disorder treatment, including nutrition assessment and diagnosis using the Nutrition Care Process, refeeding and medical stabilization support, meal planning and food exposure work, weight restoration and growth monitoring, and family-based and caregiver-involved counseling
- Build and adjust evidence-based care plans
- Use motivational interviewing to support long-term behavior change
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, including therapists, physicians, psychiatrists and caregivers
- Coordinate with outside providers, schools and treatment programs as needed
- Use weight-inclusive, trauma-informed approaches in all patient interactions
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) with active credentials
- Licensed in Texas, or able to obtain licensure prior to start
- Clinical experience with pediatric and/or adolescent patients
- Comfort working with families and caregivers as part of the care team
- Strong communication and counseling skills
- Confident, compassionate, and patient-centered
Preferred:
- Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) or iaedp certification in progress
- Experience with family-based treatment (FBT) for adolescents
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience in a telehealth or hybrid care model
Schedule & Compensation
W-2 position, part-time building to full-time, with compensation moving through two stages.
Stage 1 - Part-Time, Per Session:
- Schedule: part-time to start, building as referrals come in
- No-show protection: you're paid for late cancellations
As your caseload grows, your hours and your pay both increase - the per-session rate is the floor, not the ceiling, and is reviewed as you take on more of the panel.
Stage 2 - Full-Time, Salaried:
- Transition: once your caseload is established at full volume, you move to a salaried position
- Unlimited PTO: salaried dietitians receive unlimited paid time off
- Benefits: full benefits package, including employer-subsidized health and dental insurance and ongoing professional development
- The salary amount and the caseload volume that triggers the transition are confirmed in writing at offer
Benefits
- Unlimited PTO as a salaried dietitian
- Employer-subsidized health and dental insurance
- Flexible scheduling that supports your life outside of work
- Ongoing professional development and continued education support
- Opportunities for growth within an established practice
- A collaborative, mission-driven environment
Our Approach
We believe dietitians play a critical role in healthcare and they deserve to be supported like it. Our goal is to set the standard for outpatient nutrition care in Central Texas while creating a workplace where dietitians feel respected, trusted, and set up to succeed.
