Position:             Project Manager

Location:            Weatherford, TX

Reports to:        Senior Project Manager

 

Position Summary:

Southwest Fluid Products, Inc. (“SWFP”) is seeking a Project Manager to independently manage the execution of water and wastewater treatment projects from planning through closeout. This role is responsible for full ownership of assigned projects, including schedules, documentation, coordination, and customer communication. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of accountability for execution on small-to-mid-size projects and ensures work is completed on time, within scope, and in accordance with SWFP standards.

 

The Project Manager operates with a high level of independence while leveraging the Senior Project Manager for guidance on complex issues, risk management, and strategic decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1) Project Management and Execution

a) Independently manage assigned projects through planning, execution, and closeout phases.

b) Own project scope, schedules, coordination, and execution planning.

c) Serve as the primary Project Manager on assigned projects.

d) Manage approximately 6-10 projects concurrently, depending on size and complexity.

e) Ensure projects are executed in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.

2) Schedule, Development, and Execution

a) Develop, maintain, and own detailed project schedules.

b) Track progress against schedules and proactively identify risks or delays.

c) Adjust schedules and coordinate with internal teams to maintain execution timelines.

d) Communicate schedule updates and risks clearly to stakeholders.

3) Submittals and Project Documentation

a) Prepare and submit project submittals in accordance with contract requirements and schedules, with support from the Operations Support Coordinator

b) Coordinate with Design and Engineering, Estimating, and Field Operations to ensure submittals are accurate and complete.

c) Prepare and deliver project Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, with support from the Operations Support Coordinator

d) Maintain organized, professional project documentation suitable for customer delivery.

4) Financial Tracking and Change Order Support

a) Track project costs, commitments, and progress against budgets.

b) Monitor cost variances and communicate risks early.

c) Support the preparation and coordination of change orders.

d) Maintain organized documentation related to contracts, costs, and scope changes.

5) Customer and Stakeholder Communication

a) Serve as the primary customer-facing contact for assigned projects.

b) Provide regular updates to customers, including schedules, progress, and documentation.

c) Coordinate with Business Development Managers and Account Managers as needed.

d) Resolve routine customer issues and escalate higher-risk issues appropriately.

6) Cross-Functional Coordination

a) Coordinate project execution across Design and Engineering, Estimating, Field Operations, and Finance.

b) Ensure alignment between drawings, fabrication, installation, and execution plans.

c) Identify and resolve coordination gaps that could impact schedule or quality.

d) Support smooth handoffs between internal teams and project phases.

7) Systems, Process, and Continuous Improvement

a) Utilize SWFP’s project management systems, tools, and templates consistently.

b) Reinforce established project management standards and expectations.

c) Provide feedback to improve processes, workflows, and execution practices.

d) Demonstrate continuous improvement in execution, organization, and communication.

 

Expected Outcomes (First 12-24 Months):

1)     Projects are delivered on time with minimal rework.

2)     Schedules are accurate, maintained, and proactively managed.

3)     Submittals and O&M manuals are completed accurately and on time.

4)     Customer communication is clear, professional, and consistent.

5)     Project documentation is organized, complete, and audit-ready.

6)     Effective coordination across internal teams with minimal execution gaps.

 

Qualifications:

1)     4–7 years of experience in project management, construction, or industrial project execution.

2)     Experience independently managing projects with multiple stakeholders.

3)     PMP certification encouraged but not required.

4)     OSHA 30 certification required within the first 9 months of employment.

5)     Texas Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Class D license required within 9–12 months of employment.

6)     Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

7)     Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.

Location and Logistics:
