SOCS is dedicated to providing reliable broadband internet and voice services in south-central Ohio.

We are seeking a full-time non-exempt Field Service Technician to join our Field Services Department. In this role, you are the public face of SOCS by assisting our customers with Internet service, installations or repairs in a timely and efficient manner. Our Field Service Techs must enjoy technology, working in various environments in all weather conditions, and communicating with various internal departments in order to find solutions for our customers.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform Site Surveys to determine serviceability
• Install new service for customers
• Diagnose & troubleshoot connectivity problems during Service Visits
• Configure routers & customer devices as needed
• Perform equipment upgrades for existing customers
• Electronically transfer equipment to customer locations to ensure accurate tracking of equipment
• Keep accurate & current inventory & vehicle maintenance logs
• Maintain company-issued assets including tools, equipment & vehicles
• Provide a great customer experience in all interactions with customers
• Safely drive company vehicle while utilizing most efficient route
• Other related duties as directed

Job Requirements

• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required
• Current valid Driver's License
• Ability to drive a vehicle without presenting a safety risk to yourself or other
• Ability to be added to Company auto insurance policy
• Regular & predictable attendance required
• Must be comfortable working on roofs, at varying heights& in confined spaces
• Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future
• Must pass a background check, MVR & drug screen
