What We’re Looking For

Source is looking to hire a Vice President of Product to lead the product team. The Vice President of Product is an executive role responsible for shaping and executing the product strategy aligned with the company's overall vision. The VP of Product plays a pivotal role in developing and communicating product roadmaps, collaborating with design and marketing teams, managing budgets, and leveraging market research and customer feedback for continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, communication skills, and a focus on innovation to drive successful product launches, revenue growth, and overall business success. This is a full time, salaried, remote position.

Objectives of this Role

  • Overseeing the entire product lifecycle, leading cross-functional collaboration, mentoring a high-performing product management team, and ensuring product alignment with market needs and user requirements.
  • Outstanding business skills to help locate and eliminate bottlenecks, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills. They also need to identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs).

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Develop and articulate a clear product vision aligned with the company's overall strategy.
  • Lead the development and execution of product strategies to achieve business objectives.

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and post-launch optimization.
  • Ensure products meet market needs, user requirements, and quality standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the product development process.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing product management team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  • Use data-driven insights to inform product decisions and improvements.

Product Roadmap Planning:

  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with business goals.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on market demands and strategic priorities.

User Experience and Design:

  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure an exceptional user experience and aesthetically pleasing product design.
  • Advocate for user-centric design principles throughout the product development process.

Product Launch and Marketing:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute successful product launches.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies to drive product adoption and revenue growth.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the product budget.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue and cost metrics.

Customer Feedback and Support:

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product improvements.
  • Collaborate with customer support teams to address product-related issues promptly.

Innovation and Technology Trends:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations.
  • Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new technologies to enhance product offerings.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development, launch, and maintenance.
  • Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships that enhance the product portfolio and market presence.
  • Collaborate with external partners to leverage complementary technologies or services.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees such as an MBA are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in product management, with a track record of successful product launches and revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive product decisions.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI principles and design thinking.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus: previous experience in, or pursuing a degree in, the commercial architecture/design/construction industry
