As a Counter Staff member at SoupSmith and Salt & Vinegar, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service in a new restaurant environment. Your primary responsibilities will include welcoming guests, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and food quality.

We are a new restaurant and have openings for full time, part time and everything in-between. We can offer morning, mid-day or evening hours, 7 days per week, please do not hesitate to inquire. In addition to an hourly wage, this position will also receive digital tips.

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and people skills required.
• Strong verbal communication skills required .
• Active food handler’s certification required to be obtained within 3 months of start date (costs to be covered by us).
• Good working knowledge of products and willingness to learn.
• Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
• Team oriented.

Responsibilities:

• Your primary responsibilities will include welcoming guests, preparing and serving food, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
• This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and food quality.
• Welcome guests in a friendly and polite manner.
• Maintain standards of food and beverage quality and service.
• Demonstrate menu knowledge and sales skills, answering questions and making suggestions.
• Relay information to the kitchen when items are running low and need to be replenished.
• Communicate with other staff and management regarding the needs of guests
• Complete all side work as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Basic POS responsibilities

Nice-to-haves:

• Prior serving experience preferred.
• Prior experience with POS systems.
