Description

SolTerra Engineering is seeking an experienced Highway Construction Inspector to support FHWA, Federal Lands Highway, state DOT, and airport construction projects throughout the western United States. This is primarily an inspection and documentation position, not solely a materials testing role. The inspector will observe daily construction activities, verify work against plans and specifications, document progress and quantities, prepare clear daily reports, photograph work, identify nonconforming conditions, and coordinate professionally with contractors, testing personnel, and project management.

Qualified candidates should have highway, roadway, bridge, utility, earthwork, concrete, or paving inspection experience; strong written communication skills; and the ability to work independently in an active construction environment. NICET Highway Construction Inspection, WAQTC/TTQP, ACI, or state DOT certifications are strongly preferred. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel or work extended assignments at project locations across the western U.S. Federal Lands Highway or state DOT project experience is especially valuable.
