We are seeking a Systems Engineer with deep experience in complex system design and solution architecture to support enterprise-level aviation, air traffic management, and transportation modernization efforts. The role will focus on providing systems engineering expertise across the full system lifecycle, including concept development, requirements analysis, system design, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will have direct exposure to FAA systems, the National Airspace System (NAS), or comparable mission-critical environments and be able to bridge technical depth with strong systems thinking. A strong background in engineering disciplines and ability to analyze complex technical environments, recommend improvements, and support the transition of legacy systems to modernized architectures is essential. This role is remote, with occasional travel to customer or partner sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide system-level analysis and engineering expertise across multiple domains (e.g., communications, automation, navigation, data).
- Support the definition, analysis, and validation of requirements, including functional, performance, and interface requirements of service-based architectures.
- Develop technical documentation, system models, and architecture artifacts to support engineering and program decisions.
- Conduct trade studies, feasibility assessments, and risk analysis to inform technical and programmatic direction.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, government stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Apply systems engineering best practices to ensure quality, safety, and reliability of delivered solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in system lifecycle engineering, including requirements, design, integration, and test.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting large-scale technical programs with multiple stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for 3 year
- Ability to obtain FAA security suitability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with FAA systems, National Airspace System (NAS) environments, or other large-scale government/transportation systems.
- Experience with modernization of legacy systems into service-based or cloud-based architectures.
- Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE), enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF), or digital engineering tools.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, data management, or safety risk management in complex systems.
- Professional certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, PMP) a plus.
- Experienced in modern software architectures
