Solar Sam is seeking a Senior Energy Advisor to join our growing team. We are in Columbia, MO, with markets throughout Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois and growing into markets throughout the USA.

This position at the plan target will make you $125,000+ per year.

You will have continuous company training and support to succeed. This role is a pure hunting role, and you will be expected to produce 5 sales per week. You will have no more than a 30-day ramp period. You must be willing to prospect, including knocking on doors, networking, and cold calling. Company leads are a bonus only for those who produce. We feed the strong and not the weak. You will not be provided with new company-produced marketing leads until you are selling consistently on your own. Your role is to seek out potential buyers and convert them to new clients by evaluating ways to save them on their energy bills and selling them a new solar system. Post-Sale customer service and customer follow-up is a necessity. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, eager to help homeowners and business owners, and invoking referrals.

Position Description:


  • This position is for a relationship-based salesperson
  • Sell and set appointments through Door-to-Door sales in assigned territory
  • Be able to sell over the phone, via video conferencing, and outside sales
  • We are looking for a hunter, not a farmer
  • We seek someone that has high confidence and is empathetic
  • Must work around commercial and residential houses
  • Must get on roofs of potential clients to check the structure
  • Must be able to assess energy efficiency concerns
  • Must attend shows, fairs, and any way to connect with customers
  • Be able to see projects to completion
  • Sell virtually over Zoom and Google Meets
  • Other duties as assigned as necessary for business needs or demands
  • Sell across multiple markets

Qualification & Experience:


  • Proven sales track record and able to prove it
  • Must be coachable and willing to be open-minded
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of operating a vehicle safely
  • Outstanding analytical and planning skills and analytical thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Microsoft Suite and Google Docs proficient

Physical Demands:


  • Works both in the office environment, traveling to customers, canvassing neighborhoods, and selling door to door.
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Travel approximately 80% of the time to appointments
  • Ability to move about unlevel ground, attic, and rooftops

Salary

$125,000 - $175,000 per year
