About the Role
The Solar Sales Closer is responsible for running qualified homeowner appointments and converting them into signed solar contracts. Appointments may be virtual or in-home depending on location. This role requires strong consultative sales skills, follow-through, and the ability to communicate the value of solar clearly and professionally.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct solar consultations with pre-set, qualified homeowner appointments.
- Present system designs, savings, and financing options.
- Guide homeowners through questions, concerns, and the decision-making process.
- Finalize agreements, collect required documents, and submit clean deal packets.
- Maintain accurate notes, follow-ups, and pipeline updates in sales tools.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth transition after the sale.

What You Need to Succeed
- Strong closing experience in solar or similar in-home/virtual sales.
- Ability to explain savings, systems, and financing options clearly.
- Reliable follow-through on documentation and deal progression.
- Tech comfort with virtual meetings, digital documents, and mobile tools.
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends based on homeowner availability.
Preferred (not required):
- Solar closing experience
- In-home sales experience
- Understanding of net metering and utility billing
Must be:
- 18+ and able to legally contract as a 1099
- Comfortable in a commission-only structure
Compensation
- Commission-only (1099)
- $.20 per watt on closed and funded deals
- Payout after installation
- No earnings cap
