What Is Sojourns Community Health Clinic? 

Sojourns Community Health Clinic is a non-profit (501(c)3), community-rooted health center nestled on the eleven-acre organic Long River Farm in Westminster, Vermont. Each year, we care for thousands of community members through integrative, wellness-based services — from primary care, chiropractic, and physical therapy to chronic disease management. We are especially known for our welcoming apothecary and our expertise in treating Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. About the Role 

You're the friendly, steady presence our patients count on in the afternoon. As our closing receptionist, you'll keep the front desk running smoothly from 1 PM through close — managing check-ins and check-outs, fielding calls, collecting payments, and making sure every patient leaves feeling cared for. 


What You'll Do 

  • Greet and check patients in/out with warmth and professionalism 
  • Answer incoming calls — routing, scheduling, cancellations, and provider messages 
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay payments at time of service 
  • Maintain accurate patient records and insurance information in the EMR 
  • Notify providers of patient arrivals, delays, or schedule changes 
  • Perform closing duties and ensure the front desk/reception area are secure and tidy 
  • Provide Apothecary coverage as needed at end of day

  • Reliability — this role owns our daily close, Monday through Friday

Nice to have: 1–3 years of front desk or medical receptionist experience · EHR/EMR familiarity

Physical Requirements 

This position requires the ability to perform routine office tasks in a professional healthcare environment.  

  1. Should be able to sit or stand for extended periods and move freely throughout the clinic, facility, and surrounding community spaces as needed. 
  2. Occasionally lifts, carries, or moves materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
