This role combines revenue cycle management and developing patient relationships. You'll assist in our billing operations, while also managing our New Client follow-up workflow — ensuring new patients are welcomed, tracked, and supported through their first steps at Sojourns. This is a great fit for someone who loves both the detail-oriented side of medical billing and the relational side of patient care coordination.

Description

Billing Assistant (approximately 20 hrs/week) 

  • Insurance verification and maintaining up-to-date insurance information  
  • Patient billing and statement follow-up, tracking outstanding balances, and supporting collections 
  • Superbill entry 
  • Preparing daily mail deposit  
  • Monitor and return billing voicemails, emails, and answering in-person questions  
  • Billing admin tasks as assigned  

New Client Specialist (approximately 20 hrs/week) 

  • Manage BNC Prospect list and track new patient intake status 
  • Create new patient charts and send intake forms  
  • Set and complete follow-up tasks at 1-week, 1-month, and 6-month intervals 
  • Make outreach calls to schedule follow-up appointments and monitor client progress 
  • Monitor form completion and escalate incomplete records as needed 
  • Collaborating with front desk staff on scheduling and intake  

Cross-Training 

  • Learn front desk workflows to provide coverage during PTO or high-volume periods 
  • Assist with front desk coverage as needed

Physical Requirements 

This position requires the ability to perform routine office tasks in a professional healthcare environment.  

  1. Should be able to sit or stand for extended periods and move freely throughout the clinic, facility, and surrounding community spaces as needed. 
  2. Occasionally lifts, carries, or moves materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
