Job purpose
The RES10 Intern is responsible for working with campus teams to help students discover God’s dream for their lives.
Job Overview
RES10 Interns are committed to learning to effectively connect with spiritual wanderers, communicate God’s dream for the world, for students’ lives and how students’ discover God’s dream in Jesus. In addition, RES10 interns are immersed in Sojourn’s core values and learn valuable skills associated with communicating vision and purpose necessary for support raising.
Duties and responsibilities
- STUDENT DEVELOPMENT/DISCIPLESHIP
- Commit to meeting regularly with students to provide time and mentorship for self-reflection and growth.
- Inspire a process of maturation by asking questions, seeking answers, modeling faith-in-life, sharing experiences, inviting dialogue, communicating love, and being present in the life of the students.
- Be present on campus apart from regularly scheduled programs to meet students and faculty and to become fully immersed in the rhythms of the university.
- Connect with and network students who come into contact with our community.
- Recruit student leaders to fulfill leadership expectations.
- Develop leaders who help others discover God’s dream for their lives
- Be emotionally available and stable for students, as well as supportive and understanding.
- CAMPUS PROGRAMMING
- Under the direction of the team lead, execute campus programming that facilitates movement through the student journey of faith, including but not limited to (Small groups, service opportunities, spring break, fall retreat, opening week events, connecting events, etc…)
- Prepare curriculum for meetings.
- Help create strategic plan to foster growth through student journey of faith.
- Planning, executing and attending local and regional programs and activities.
- Guiding students through the journey of faith through small groups and 1-on-1 relationships, and serving.
- ADMINISTRATION
- Attend and participate in weekly staff meeting and monthly staff gatherings.
- Work diligently. Regular working week is 40-52 hours.
- Submit reports to other staff, Team Lead, and Director of Operations on time.
- Encourage an atmosphere consistent with the Sojourn Values.
- Function within the expectations of the Staff Handbook, Res10 expectations, and Res10 policies.
- PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Participate in staff readings and discussion.
- Meet regularly with Team Leader.
- Maintain a weekly Sabbath.
- Identify areas for development and pursue readings or developmental materials necessary for growth.
- Regularly attend a partner church for first year, after that be committed to participating in a community of faith.
- Meet regularly with an agreed upon mentor.
- FUNDRAISING
- Meet regularly with development coach.
- Develop and maintain support network for ministry.
- Fundraise a minimum of $2,500 annually above your RES10 stipend.
- Maintain open, clear, and consistent communication with ministry partners, students, and organizations.

- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Exemplifies a growth in Sojourn’s core values
- Can effectively communicate God’s dream for the world, for students’ lives and how Jesus embodies that dream.
- Demonstrates a positive view of support raising
- Has demonstrated an ability to help students (DGDFTL) discover God’s dream for their life.
- Other characteristics such as personal characteristics
- Demonstrates a commitment to growing in personal relationship with Jesus
- Demonstrates a hunger for ministry, humility and urgency for God’s dream.
- Demonstrates an ability to take self-initiative.
