Softek LLC is looking for a skilled Management Analyst to support requirements gathering and business analysis for IRS. This role bridges the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data solutions meet operational needs while supporting the IRS's modernization goals and taxpayer service improvements.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis sessions to capture functional and non-functional requirements
  • Business Analysis: Analyze current state processes, identify gaps, and recommend data-driven solutions
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication between IRS customers, business units, and technical development teams
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive requirements documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Process Mapping: Document current and future state business processes, data flows, and system interactions
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet business objectives
  • Testing Support: Develop test scenarios, coordinate user acceptance testing, and validate business requirements
  • Change Management: Support organizational change initiatives related to new data capabilities and processes
  • Reporting: Provide regular status updates on requirements gathering activities and project progress

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years conducting requirements gathering for IT projects, with focus on data pipeline/data warehousing initiatives
  • Project Count: Demonstrated experience with at least 2 IT data pipeline or warehousing projects of similar complexity
  • Business Analysis: Strong background in business process analysis, requirements documentation, and stakeholder management
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with data architecture concepts, ETL processes, and analytics platforms
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, or similar credentials
  • Government Experience: Previous work with federal agencies, understanding of government operations and compliance requirements
  • IRS Knowledge: Familiarity with tax processing, IRS systems, or Treasury Department operations
  • Agile Experience: Experience with Agile methodologies, user story development, and iterative requirements gathering

Technical Environment

  • Analysis Tools: Microsoft Visio, Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint
  • Data Platforms: Understanding of Databricks, AWS services, and modern data architectures
  • Documentation: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, requirements management tools
  • Collaboration: Experience with virtual collaboration tools and distributed team environments
