Classroom Teacher (Part-Time, 0.4 FTE)

Essential Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned subjects in accordance with the school's curriculum, educational philosophy, and scope and sequence.
  • Integrate a biblical worldview throughout instruction and employ age-appropriate classical teaching methods that cultivate wonder, attentiveness, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction that supports student growth in knowledge, understanding, skill, and character.
  • Assess student learning, maintain accurate records, and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Foster an orderly, joyful, and respectful classroom environment that promotes both academic excellence and Christian character.
  • Model Christian virtues and encourage students to develop responsibility, diligence, perseverance, and self-discipline.
  • Communicate with parents frequently regarding student progress, classroom activities, and areas of concern.
  • Partner with parents in supporting each student's academic, spiritual, and character development.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parents to support student success and advance the school's mission.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, student activities, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Support enrollment, retention, and community-building efforts through positive relationships, professional excellence, and faithful service.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional growth and the pursuit of excellence in teaching and student formation.
  • Support the mission, values, and Christian character of the school in all interactions with students, parents, and staff.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • Profess and model a sincere Christian faith and support the school's Statement of Faith, mission, and educational philosophy.
  • Demonstrate a love for students and a passion for teaching from a classical Christian worldview.
  • Serve as a Christlike role model in character, speech, and conduct.
  • Possess strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, student formation, and professional growth.
  • Maintain professional standards of conduct, collaboration, confidentiality, and communication.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with classical Christian education, or a willingness to learn and embrace its philosophy, strongly preferred.
