Role Summary
The Production Manager is a year-round individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Production. This role owns the planning, sourcing, and technical execution of key production programs across Social House Holiday’s event portfolio.
Year-round, the Production Manager manages vendors and works cross-functionally with internal teams and creative stakeholders. During the event season, they provide direction to seasonal on-site production staff to ensure execution meets brand and technical standards.
This role demands both technical fluency and the organizational discipline to manage multiple programs across a full event cycle.
Core Responsibilities
Program Ownership
The Production Manager holds full ownership of four production programs across all holiday events. For each program, they work closely with the internal Experience Design team to develop and deploy solutions that meet Social House Holiday’s creative and technical standards.
- Signage: Brief and manage design vendors, oversee procurement, and coordinate deployment across all venues.
- Audio: Lead system design, equipment specification, and vendor coordination. Provide technical input during the creative development process and own execution through install and show readiness.
- Wardrobe and Uniforms: Coordinate sourcing and procurement of all event staff uniforms and wardrobe. Develop and hand off a wardrobe maintenance and care plan to site teams for the run of show. Manage wardrobe inventory, storage, and maintenance during the off-season.
- Snow Machines: Manage the full lifecycle of company-owned snow machine inventory, including maintenance scheduling, storage coordination, and site deployment.
Production Management
- Review technical requirements across departments to ensure feasibility, alignment with production standards, and support of the overall guest experience
- Maintain production schedules, budgets, and timelines across all active event seasons
- Adjust project plans in response to scope changes, budget shifts, or scheduling updates
- Develop and maintain the Production Rider and all supporting technical documentation
- Negotiate vendor contracts within approved parameters and manage deliverables through to completion
- Conduct site visits to assess venue conditions and inform production planning
- Monitor project status, surface risks early, and resolve issues before they affect the event timeline
- Oversee load-in, show readiness, and load-out execution across venues
- Manage production equipment inventory across storage facilities
Seasonal Staff
- Assess on-site production staffing requirements for each event season
- Consult on job descriptions and assist with candidate screening
- Develop production-specific onboarding materials and provide guidance to seasonal production staff ahead of and during the event season
Success Measures
- All assigned production programs are delivered on time, on budget, and to brand standard across every venue
- Technical requirements are reviewed and flagged early enough to avoid downstream production issues
- Vendor contracts are executed on schedule with deliverables met and costs maintained within approved budget variance
- The Production Rider and supporting documentation are accurate, current, and accessible to all relevant teams
- Seasonal production staff are onboarded with clear expectations and the materials they need to execute
- Production challenges are identified and resolved before they affect the event timeline or guest experience
What You Bring
- 5+ years in large-scale live event production
- Experience managing multi-vendor, multi-site production projects simultaneously
- Technical fluency in audio system design and specification
- Ability to read and interpret CAD and Vectorworks drawings
- Strong budget management and vendor negotiation skills
- Ability to translate creative briefs into technical execution plans
- Highly organized with the ability to manage long planning cycles and shifting priorities
- Available for evenings and weekends during peak season (October through January)
Travel
This is a remote role with approximately 30% travel annually, concentrated during the event season. Travel may include site visits, install support, run of show, and load-out across venues. Specific locations vary year to year.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to walk and stand for extended periods and navigate active production environments including warehouses, staging areas, construction zones, and technical installations. Our event venues span over 100,000 square feet.
