We’re looking for a Performance Media Buyer (contractor) who thinks like a marketer, watches the data like an analyst, and obsesses over what makes every ad dollar return. This is a 100% performance role — not brand. You’ll be equal parts media buyer, testing partner, and growth strategist — owning day-to-day buying on Meta (our primary channel) and scaling spend into TikTok, AppLovin, and Snapchat. You’ll work directly with our Creative Strategist (who leads our creative team) and our DTC lead — so what we learn one week shapes how we buy and brief the next.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Buying & Channel Ownership

  • Own end-to-end Meta Ads buying — account structure, audience strategy, budget allocation, scaling, and pruning.
  • Test, scale, and optimize spend across TikTok, AppLovin, and Snapchat as budgets dictate.
  • Manage $100K–$500K/mo in spend across channels, with a clear path to scale.
  • Live in the accounts every day — making the daily calls on what to push, what to kill, and when (and how) to scale winners.


Creative Testing & Partnership

  • Translate performance data into clear creative briefs and feed results back to the Creative Strategist in a way the creative team can actually act on — not just dashboards.
  • Own how we test — test structure, pacing, and budget allocation behind every test we run.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorms with hooks, angles, and audience insights from what you’re seeing in-platform.


Full-Funnel Performance

  • Think in DTC funnels, not ad sets — and inform our top-, middle-, and bottom-of-funnel messaging and buying. Call out what’s missing or underperforming at each stage so we know exactly what creative and campaigns to build next.
  • Flag when landing pages, offers, or checkout friction are dragging down paid performance — and push fixes upstream with the DTC team.


Performance & Reporting

  • Make decisions off Northbeam ROAS, not just in-platform numbers.
  • Read the data Northbeam gives us — CAC, ROAS, MER, channel-level efficiency — and know what it means (and doesn’t mean) for how you should be buying.
  • Own the weekly performance recap: what happened, why, what we’re changing, and what we need from creative next.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on paid media buying for DTC brands at $100K+/mo.
  • Expert-level Meta Ads experience — you can defend your account structure, audience approach, and testing framework in detail.
  • Proven track record of profitable scaling, not just maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of DTC funnels end-to-end — ad through retention.
  • Working knowledge of Northbeam (or a comparable MMM/attribution platform) and how to use it to drive decisions.
  • Comfortable as a contractor working inside a small team — self-managed, deadline-driven, and able to operate as a true partner with the Creative Strategist and DTC lead (not a black box).


Must-Have Skills & Traits

  • Full-funnel thinker — you understand how landing pages, offers, and checkout impact CPA and ROAS.
  • Sharp creative instincts — you can read what’s working in an ad and translate it into a brief.
  • Data-fluent — comfortable separating signal from noise across in-platform, MMM, and last-click views.
  • Strong communicator — proactive in Slack, clear in writing, holds your own on a call.
  • A test-and-learn mindset: you move fast, document learnings, and keep improving.
  • Bias to action — you’d rather ship a test than wait for the perfect setup.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supplements, health, or wellness brands (huge plus).
  • Familiarity with paid media compliance in the supplements/health space — you know the difference between a claim that ships and a claim that gets rejected.
  • Hands-on scaling experience on TikTok, AppLovin, and/or Snapchat — not just “ran a few campaigns.”
  • Subscription / LTV mindset — you think in CAC payback, not just first-purchase ROAS.
  • Experience working directly alongside a dedicated Creative Strategist and creative team.
  • Familiarity with creative testing frameworks and creative analytics tools (Motion, Atria, Foreplay, etc.).


What Success Looks Like:

  • Spend scaled in channels that are working — without falling below our efficiency thresholds.
  • Northbeam ROAS trending in the right direction at both blended and channel levels.
  • Weekly reporting that drives decisions — not just numbers on a slide.
  • The Creative Strategist and creative team always know what to build next — because of how this person reads performance and feeds it back.
  • A reputation on the team as the person who knows where every dollar is going and why.
