SMJ Communications has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and creative Social Media Specialist to join our team. As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for leading all social media activities for the firm and our clients. You will be tasked with developing and implementing social media strategies, creating engaging content, managing social media accounts, and measuring the success of our social media campaigns.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Account Support

  • Develop and implement social media strategies that align with our clients' communication strategies and business objectives
  • Create and curate engaging content for social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Manage and maintain social media accounts for our clients, including posting, scheduling, and monitoring social media activity
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging social media trends, technologies, and platforms, and recommend new strategies for our clients
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance, and report on key metrics and trends to clients
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all social media content aligns with the clients' overall communication strategies and brand voice
  • Manage and build social media communities by engaging with followers and responding to comments and messages
  • Work with clients to understand their unique social media needs, provide guidance and recommendations, and execute campaigns to drive engagement and results
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in social media advertising, and recommend strategies for paid social media campaigns
  • Develop and manage relationships with social media influencers, bloggers, and other partners to increase the reach and engagement of our clients' social media content
  • Collaborate with account leaders on project requirements and deliverables
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Write long- and short-form social media messages that attract new users and engage current users
  • Use data to analyze what’s working, what’s not, and reinforce or refocus key messages accordingly
  • Wear many hats as you work with multiple teams to develop strategy, work with designers, write copy, manage social communities, and analyze data
  • Help convert SMJ followers and client followers  into loyal customers or advocates with engaging, responsive, responsible, surprising, and captivating social media interactions


SMJ Communications: Social Media & Website 

  • Develop and implement social media activities for the firm
  • Define social media KPIs
  • Measure the success of social media campaigns
  • Manage and oversee social media content for SMJ Communications
  • Researching content ideas, messaging and best practices
  • Recommending key social media tactics and strategies
  • Monitoring analytics and engagements and proactively sharing insights and recommendations with the account lead 
  • Work alongside the SMJ graphic designer who serves as webmaster  to support the SMJ Communications website

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Please provide at least 4 samples that exhibit your ability to develop engaging social media content and captions, differentiate content across social media channels, and implement a compelling social media campaign. 
  • Applicants will be required to complete a social media exercise to demonstrate their skills. 

COMPETENCIES 

  • Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a Digital Media Specialist for 1-2 years
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
  • Adequate knowledge of web design, web development, CRO and SEO application 
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented  with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Fluency in English

EDUCATION BACKGROUND

  • 1+ year of experience in a content development setting as a social media manager, specialist, or similar role

$40,000 - $55,000 per year
