Smitty's Tree Service, Inc. has spent over 65 years providing high-quality professional tree care. Our company specializes in tree trimming, tree and stump removal, and tree health care. The Smitty's Mulch Center also turns all of the tree material into beautiful landscape mulch available for delivery or installation.

The Climber position generally consists of working hard with our tree crews climbing trees to trim or remove them. Other responsibilities may include:

Job Duties

·    Trimming & removing trees based up the specifications of the work order

·    Removing and trimming trees in hazardous situations

·    Positioning and operating the chipper

·    Miscellaneous tasks around the shop building

·    Filling up with fuel, clean out & inspect truck at the end of the day

·    Communicate any issues regarding equipment

·    Use of safety equipment and following safety procedures

Qualifications

·    More than 2 years of professional tree climbing experience

·    Knowledge of climbing knots and roping procedures

·    Ability to recognize deadwood without leaves on trees

·    Ability to climb 100 feet up a tree

·    Ability to climb trees without spikes

·    Ability to use a spider lift and bucket truck is preferred, but not required

·    Ability to lift 50-100 pounds

·    Class A, B or C license preferred, but not required

·    Ability to work in all weather conditions all year round

·    Positive attitude and good work ethic

·    Ability to speak English and Spanish is preferred but not required
