The clinic-based Speech Language Pathologist position is responsible for evaluating and treating pediatric patients in need of early intervention services. Another key component to treatment is proper documentation and collaborating with coworkers.

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. You will work primarily with pediatric patients, providing early intervention services to support their development and enhance their communication skills. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology will be essential in delivering effective patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ speech and language abilities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
  • Implement therapy sessions focused on improving communication skills and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to support patient progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Provide education and resources to families regarding speech therapy techniques and strategies.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech and language functions.
  • Experience in pediatrics is preferred; familiarity with early intervention practices is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to speech therapy.
  • Excellent patient assessment skills with a focus on individualized care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
