New graduates welcome

Overview

A new word. A clearer message. The confidence to ask for help. Help children reach those milestones at Small Talk Pediatric Therapy.

We’re looking for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant who enjoys working with children, connecting with families, and bringing creativity to therapy. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, you’ll help children practice communication skills that matter in their everyday lives.

Whether you’re beginning your career or bringing years of experience, we’d love to meet you.

Description

Small moments. Big milestones.

Joining a conversation. Expressing a need. Sharing an idea. Finding a way to connect.

At Small Talk, these moments matter. As an SLPA, you’ll put established treatment plans into action through engaging activities tailored to each child’s goals, interests, and needs.

We’re building a practice where great care and a sustainable career grow together. That means listening to clinicians, sharing ideas across disciplines, partnering with families, and continually improving how we work.

We want you to help shape that practice.

What makes Small Talk different

  • Time for the work beyond the session. Our standard full-time therapist schedule includes up to 35 hours of scheduled direct care and 5 hours for documentation and other responsibilities within a 40-hour workweek.
  • Options for your workweek. Choose from four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days, coordinated with clinic and patient needs.
  • Collaboration with your supervising SLP. Share observations, discuss progress, and work together to support each child’s treatment goals.
  • A team to learn alongside. Exchange ideas with colleagues across speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and mental health.
  • A voice in how we grow. Bring your ideas for improving therapy sessions and the experience of children, families, and staff.
  • Support for your development. Build your skills through collaboration and annual continuing education and licensing assistance.

Your role

You’ll provide services within your professional scope under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
  • Providing engaging therapy activities that support established speech, language, and communication goals.
  • Collecting accurate treatment data and documenting each child’s performance.
  • Sharing observations, progress, and concerns with the supervising SLP.
  • Reinforcing home practice activities and family education as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Preparing therapy materials and maintaining a safe, welcoming treatment environment.
  • Participating in supervision and incorporating feedback into your work.
  • Collaborating with teammates while following applicable scope-of-practice and supervision requirements.

The supervising SLP is responsible for evaluations, diagnosis, treatment-plan development and changes, and discharge decisions.

Who we’re looking for

You enjoy connecting with children, finding creative ways to practice skills, and celebrating progress. You’re comfortable asking questions, sharing observations, and working closely with your supervising SLP.

You’ll need:

  • Completion of an educational pathway that meets applicable SLPA credential requirements.
  • Current SLPA licensure or registration, as applicable, or eligibility to obtain the required credential before starting clinical work.
  • Strong observation, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to individualized pediatric care and participation in required supervision.

Experience working with children is welcome, but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

Our full-time benefits include:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with up to a 3.5% company match.
  • 80 hours of paid time off, prorated in the first year.
  • Eight paid holidays.
  • $250 annually toward continuing education and licensing.
  • Company-paid professional liability insurance.
  • Company-paid short-term disability and group term life insurance.
  • A company laptop.
