Overview

Everyday moments can be big milestones. Help children reach them at Small Talk Pediatric Therapy.

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with children, partnering with families, and collaborating with teammates. You’ll provide individualized pediatric care in a practice that values your clinical judgment, makes room for documentation, and welcomes your ideas.

Whether you’re beginning your career or bringing years of experience, we’d love to meet you.

Description

Small moments. Big milestones.

Getting dressed with greater independence. Joining a game with friends. Trying a new activity. Feeling more confident during a familiar routine.

At Small Talk, we help children develop the skills they need to participate in the everyday activities that matter to them and their families.

We’re building a practice where great care and a sustainable career grow together. That means listening to clinicians, sharing ideas across disciplines, partnering with families, and continually improving how we work.

We want you to help shape that practice.

What makes Small Talk different

  • Time for the work beyond the session. Our standard full-time therapist schedule includes up to 35 hours of scheduled direct care and 5 hours for documentation and other responsibilities within a 40-hour workweek.
  • Options for your workweek. Choose from four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days, coordinated with clinic and patient needs.
  • A team to collaborate with. Exchange ideas with colleagues across occupational therapy, speech, physical therapy, and mental health.
  • A voice in how we grow. Bring your questions, clinical perspective, and ideas for improving the experience of children, families, and staff.
  • Support for your development. Build your skills through collaboration and annual continuing education and licensing assistance.

Your role

You’ll help children build independence, confidence, and participation through care tailored to their strengths, needs, and family priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating how developmental, motor, sensory, and other functional challenges affect each child’s daily activities.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans with meaningful goals for play, self-care, and participation.
  • Providing engaging, evidence-based interventions that fit each child’s needs and interests.
  • Supporting skills such as fine motor coordination, visual motor integration, dressing, and participation in daily routines.
  • Helping families understand progress and use practical strategies between visits.
  • Collaborating with teammates and other professionals involved in the child’s care.
  • Maintaining timely, accurate evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Bringing curiosity and ideas to the ongoing improvement of our clinical services.

Who we’re looking for

You see the possibilities in each child. You enjoy finding creative ways to support progress, adapting when something isn’t working, and learning alongside others.

You’ll need:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current OT licensure, or eligibility to obtain the appropriate license before starting.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to individualized, evidence-based pediatric care.

Pediatric or school-based experience is welcome, but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

Our full-time benefits include:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with up to a 3.5% company match.
  • 80 hours of paid time off, prorated in the first year.
  • Eight paid holidays.
  • $250 annually toward continuing education and licensing.
  • Company-paid professional liability insurance.
  • Company-paid short-term disability and group term life insurance.
  • A company laptop.

Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements and plan terms.
