Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) — Pediatric Mental Health

Small Talk Pediatric Therapy

Full-time | In person

Overview

A child’s well-being is shaped by their relationships, experiences, and the world around them. Help children and families move forward at Small Talk Pediatric Therapy.

We’re looking for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and families. You’ll provide individualized mental health care in a practice that values your clinical judgment, makes room for documentation, and welcomes your ideas.

Bring your experience, curiosity, and commitment to understanding the whole child—we’d love to meet you.

Description

Small moments. Big milestones.

Feeling safe enough to share. Finding a new way to manage stress. Strengthening a family connection. Getting support when life feels overwhelming.

At Small Talk, we recognize how much these moments matter. You’ll help children and adolescents navigate emotional, behavioral, and social challenges while considering the family relationships, environments, and experiences that influence their lives.

We’re building a practice where great care and a sustainable career grow together. That means listening to clinicians, sharing ideas across disciplines, partnering with families, and continually improving how we work.

We want you to help shape that practice.

What makes Small Talk different

  • Time for the work beyond the session. Our standard full-time therapist schedule includes up to 35 hours of scheduled direct care and 5 hours for documentation and other responsibilities within a 40-hour workweek.
  • Options for your workweek. Choose from four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days, coordinated with clinic and patient needs.
  • A team to collaborate with. Work alongside colleagues across mental health, speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy to better understand and support each child’s needs.
  • A voice in how we grow. Bring your questions, clinical perspective, and ideas for improving the experience of children, families, and staff.
  • Support for your development. Build your skills through collaboration and annual continuing education and licensing assistance.

Your role

You’ll create a supportive therapeutic environment where children and adolescents can feel heard, build skills, and work toward meaningful goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Providing evidence-based psychotherapy appropriate to each client’s age, developmental needs, strengths, and goals.
  • Supporting children and adolescents with emotional regulation, coping skills, relationships, and behavioral concerns.
  • Involving parents and caregivers when clinically appropriate to strengthen support beyond the session.
  • Identifying family, social, and environmental factors that affect progress and connecting families with appropriate resources when needed.
  • Assessing safety concerns, developing safety plans, and coordinating additional support or referrals.
  • Collaborating with other professionals involved in the child’s care while maintaining appropriate consent and confidentiality.
  • Maintaining timely, accurate assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other clinical documentation.
  • Bringing curiosity and ideas to the ongoing improvement of our mental health services.

Who we’re looking for

You approach children and families with empathy, respect, and curiosity. You consider the person within their environment, recognize family strengths, and understand that meaningful progress starts with trust.

You’ll need:

  • A master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Current LCSW licensure appropriate to the role before starting clinical work.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and psychotherapy skills.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with families and colleagues.
  • A commitment to ethical, individualized, evidence-based care.

Experience working with children, adolescents, and families is preferred. Training in developmentally appropriate approaches, including play-based interventions, is welcome.

Benefits

Our full-time benefits include:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with up to a 3.5% company match.
  • 80 hours of paid time off, prorated in the first year.
  • Eight paid holidays.
  • $250 annually toward continuing education and licensing.
  • Company-paid professional liability insurance.
  • Company-paid short-term disability and group term life insurance.
  • A company laptop.

Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements and plan terms.
