Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our pediatric team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals facing mental health challenges in an outpatient setting. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care, assisting with therapeutic interventions, and ensuring a safe environment for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health practices and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the well-being of those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of mental health professionals.
- Provide direct support to clients during therapeutic activities, including cognitive behavioral therapy sessions.
- Monitor clients' behavior and emotional well-being, documenting observations accurately.
- Facilitate crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring client safety and de-escalation of situations.
- Engage in telehealth sessions as needed, providing support through virtual platforms.
- Support clients with developmental disabilities and autism by employing tailored strategies for effective communication and engagement.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and collaborate on care strategies.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to client recovery.
Qualifications: (One of the following must be obtained to qualify for this position)
- Master's in Mental Health Counseling
- Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- Master's in Counseling Psychology
- Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling (if it includes clinical mental health coursework)
- Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (may qualify if it includes the required coursework for mental health counseling)
Experience
- Previous experience in mental health counseling or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology and its application in treatment settings is a plus.
- Experience working with children or adolescents facing mental health challenges is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and the ability to apply them effectively in various situations.
- Understanding of therapeutic approaches, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is beneficial.
- Experience with telehealth services is an advantage but not mandatory.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
