Job description:

Small Hands Big Art is a children's art studio has been delighting kids since 2009 at our South Charlotte location (we also have a studio in Fort Mill, SC). If you’re an energetic creative looking to make an impact in the lives of children, we’re looking for YOU to join our amazing team of instructors at our SOUTH CHARLOTTE STUDIO at Waverly shopping center.

Our Waverly studio is a huge bustling hub of art and pottery making, laughter and light! We relocated to this beautiful new space last year and expanded our operations to include a new ceramic studio that adjoins our bright open art studio!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for permanent part time Art and Pottery Studio Assistant. We are specifically seeking someone with an hustle, a strong interest in working with children, and a desire to move into a teaching role. Primarily summer + Saturdays. Ability to work flexible hours is a must.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Brighten kids days by assisting our instructors in delivering joyful, memorable art experiences!
• Demonstrate caring and compassion towards children and model our core values as you're interacting with students, parents, and staff.
• Assist teaching staff before, during & after art and pottery classes.
• Load / unload pottery kilns, sort and organize pottery for pick up.
• Organize and maintain general cleanliness of art and pottery studios.
• Assist in planning and prepping art and pottery projects for parties and other special events such as studio open houses, charity events, fundraisers, etc. as needed.
• Maintain an orderly and safe studio environment at all times.
• Monitor art and pottery supplies and communicate low inventory to management as needed.
• Greet students and parents, answer questions, provide information, and assist guests as needed.
• Act as a Small Hands Big Art Brand Ambassador. Everything we do involves some aspect of marketing and family / community relations. If you love people & being front & center this may be the place for you! Our students get very attached to our staff -our relationship with our families & students is our greatest focus and source of pride!
• Sweep up a lot of glitter, gemstones, buttons & blobs of clay. 
• The physical demands of the job require standing for long periods of time, some lifting (particularly in the pottery studio) frequent bending and hunching over sinks.
