Small Engine Specialists is hiring a Two-Cycle Technician to support our service department and help maintain strong shop efficiency and repair quality. This role focuses on diagnosing and repairing two-cycle equipment while working within our established service process. You will be expected to produce consistent, accurate work and contribute to overall shop flow. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build real mechanical skill, take ownership of their work, and grow into a higher-level technician over time.

Key Responsibilities

Service Work


  • Diagnose and repair two-cycle equipment including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and handheld units
  • Perform carburetor service, fuel system repairs, and ignition diagnostics
  • Complete routine maintenance and manufacturer-standard repairs
  • Ensure all work meets SES quality standards

Workflow & Process


  • Follow our work order and service process
  • Complete clear and accurate documentation
  • Maintain steady workflow and productivity
  • Support shop flow during busy periods

Shop Standards


  • Maintain clean and organized workspace
  • Take ownership of assigned work and tools
  • Contribute to overall shop efficiency

Daily Discipline

This role requires consistent effort, attention to detail, and accountability throughout the day. Technicians are expected to stay productive, organized, and engaged at all times.


30 / 60–90 Day / 1 Year Expectations

First 30 Days


  • Learn shop workflow and service process
  • Complete basic repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Follow instructions and maintain organization

First 60–90 Days


  • Independently complete most two-cycle repairs
  • Improve speed and diagnostic ability
  • Maintain consistent productivity

One Year


  • Strong diagnostic ability across two-cycle equipment
  • Consistent, high-quality repairs
  • Reliable contributor to shop efficiency
  • Increased responsibility within the service team

Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and pride in work
  • Able to lift 50 lbs

Experience preferred but not required. Mechanical interest and willingness to learn are essential.
