Job Summary
We are seeking a Bilingual Spanish-English Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide pediatric speech therapy services throughout Northeast Houston, including the 77015 area and surrounding communities, in home, daycare, and occasional clinic settings. This position is primarily community-based and requires regular travel to patient locations. While some therapy sessions may be conducted at our office in Houston, TX 77015, the majority of visits will be completed in patients' homes and daycare centers.
The ideal candidate is passionate about serving children and families, comfortable working independently in various environments, and able to maintain a flexible schedule. This role is expected to provide direct services outside of the office at least 2–3 days per week, depending on caseload and patient needs. The SLPA will collaborate closely with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to deliver high-quality, family-centered care for children with communication challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed SLPs in delivering speech therapy services to children in home, daycare, and clinic settings.
- Implement individualized therapy plans developed by supervising SLPs.
- Support children with communication disorders, including articulation, language, and social communication delays.
- Travel to assigned patient locations throughout the 77015 area and surrounding communities.
- Monitor patient progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate professionally with families, caregivers, daycare staff, and supervising clinicians.
- Maintain a safe, engaging, and therapeutic environment that supports each child's development and success.
Experience & Qualifications
- Current Texas SLPA license in good standing.
- Prior experience working with children is preferred.
- Experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required to effectively communicate with clients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally between patient locations are required.
