Event Bartender — Part-Time, Weekends
Simply Serving | Boston and surrounding communities
Starting pay: $16 per hour plus tips
Simply Serving is hiring experienced bartenders for private parties, weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions. We’re looking for people who are ready to start soon, have consistent weekend availability, and want to become regular members of our event team.
Our staff work at different venues and private homes, helping clients host welcoming, well-run events. You should enjoy meeting people, feel comfortable behind the bar, and be willing to help with everything from setup through cleanup.
Schedule and availability
This is a flexible, event-based position. Weekend availability is required, especially Saturdays. Evening availability is also important.
We’re looking for bartenders who want to work regularly and can accept multiple shifts when events are available, particularly during our busy season. You can work with us alongside another job, provided your schedule leaves consistent availability for our weekend events.
Hours depend on event bookings and seasonal demand. The number of available shifts varies, and a set weekly schedule or minimum number of hours is not guaranteed.
Team members are expected to:
- Submit accurate availability and communicate changes promptly.
- Respond to scheduling messages in a timely manner.
- Arrive on time and prepared for every accepted shift.
- Remain available for the full scheduled shift, including setup and breakdown.
What you’ll do
- Set up the bar before guests arrive, organizing beverages, ice, glassware, garnishes, tools, and supplies.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages.
- Provide friendly, attentive service while keeping orders moving efficiently.
- Follow the event’s drink menu, service instructions, and timeline.
- Practice responsible alcohol service, check identification when appropriate, and communicate concerns to the event lead.
- Keep the bar clean, organized, and stocked throughout service.
- Communicate with the event lead and other staff about supplies, timing, and guest needs.
- Assist with related event service tasks as needed.
- Break down the bar, organize remaining supplies, and clean the work area at the end of the event.
- Submit hours and any required event information promptly after each shift.
What we’re looking for
- Previous bartending experience and a working knowledge of common cocktails.
- Current TIPS on-premise certification before working bartending events.
- Consistent weekend availability and an interest in working regularly.
- A dependable way to reach different event locations.
- Professional appearance and willingness to follow event uniform requirements.
- Strong communication, punctuality, and follow-through.
- Comfort working independently behind the bar and alongside an event team.
- Ability to stay organized during busy service and adapt to different venues and setups.
Private event, wedding, or catering experience is helpful.
Pay
Bartender pay starts at $16 per hour, plus tips. Gratuities vary by event and are not guaranteed.
