We are seeking a Senior Appian Developer to join our intelligent automation engineering team. As a senior contributor, you will design and deliver scalable, high-quality Appian applications for our clients while serving as a senior technical resource across development teams. This role sits at the Senior Developer level of our engineering career track and requires deep platform expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to elevate team quality through collaboration, code reviews, and mentorship. While this is a remote role, occasional client travel may be required to support project delivery, workshops, or go-live activities.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain Appian applications including process models, SAIL interfaces, data models, and integrations following platform best practices 
  • Contribute to solution architecture and design scalable Appian applications for complex business problems in collaboration with solution architects 
  • Serve as a senior technical contributor within development teams, conducting code reviews and promoting development best practices 
  • Design and implement integrations with external systems using Appian integration frameworks and established architecture standards 
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive proactive performance optimization to meet SLAs 
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts and enterprise architects to translate client requirements into resilient, modular applications 
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers on Appian development best practices, platform capabilities, and application design patterns 
  • Support technical and functional demonstrations for client stakeholders and contribute to architecture and design discussions 
  • Create technical documentation outlining application architecture, data flows, dependencies, and operational procedures 
  • Contribute to technical planning, estimation, and sprint ceremonies within an agile delivery framework 
  • Stay current with the latest Appian platform capabilities and evaluate emerging features for adoption 

 

Qualifications 

  • 5–8 years of professional experience developing applications on the Appian platform 
  • Appian Certified Senior Developer required; Lead Developer certification a plus 
  • Strong expertise in process modeling, data modeling, and UI/SAIL design 
  • Demonstrated experience with Java or JavaScript for custom integrations and extensions 
  • Proven ability to serve as a senior technical contributor and conduct meaningful code reviews 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to client stakeholders 
  • Collaborative team player who can drive projects and technical decisions independently 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field 
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to client sites as needed

Salary

$120,000 - $150,000 per year
