We are a professional, residential handyman and home improvement business serving homeowners in the Metuchen and Edison areas. We are looking for a reliable, motivated apprentice to assist with a wide variety of home repair and improvement projects including carpentry, trim work, painting, installations, repairs, and light remodeling.

This is a long-term, hands-on learning opportunity with a path toward becoming an independent technician running jobs and serving clients directly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with carpentry, installations, repairs, and painting
• Prepare and clean job sites
• Handle tools and materials safely
• Learn proper techniques and safety practices
• Communicate professionally with homeowners when needed

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and willing to complete all standard tax and employment documentation, including Form W-4 and Form I-9
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Functional written and spoken English skills
• Basic familiarity with tools or a strong willingness to learn
• Ability to independently lift and carry 50 lbs
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Punctual and dependable
• Comfortable working professionally in occupied homes

Nice to Have

• Prior construction, handyman, or DIY experience
• Carpentry or mechanical skills

Growth Path

This role is designed to grow into a full technician position capable of running jobs independently within 9-12 months, depending on progress.

Benefits & Schedule

• Part-time: approximately 30 hours/week
• Weekdays only, typically between 9am–5pm, no on-call
• Paid time off - 1 hour earned per 26 hours worked, after 30 days probation
• Earned sick-leave per New Jersey state law
• OSHA 10-hour construction safety training provided
• CPR / First Aid training provided
• Tools and personal protective equipment provided for work use
