Description

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, structured, and positive environment for children.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
  • Maintain an organized and engaging classroom.
  • Supervise children at all times and ensure proper supervision ratios are maintained.
  • Follow all North Carolina childcare rules, regulations, and center policies.
  • Maintain daily attendance, meal, activity, incident, and other required classroom records.
  • Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child's day, progress, and needs.
  • Lead and provide direction to assistant teachers working in the classroom.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, physical, and educational development.
  • Assist children with meals, toileting, diapering, handwashing, rest time, and other daily routines as appropriate for the age group.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day.
  • Prepare the classroom and materials for daily activities.
  • Follow the center's behavior-management and discipline policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional-development opportunities.
  • Work cooperatively with other teachers and management.
  • Follow all health, safety, confidentiality, and emergency procedures.
  • Perform additional childcare-related duties as assigned by management.
